Homewood is an upscale Birmingham suburb in central Alabama, connected by I-65, US 31, and I-459. The city sits on rolling hills about 8 miles south of downtown Birmingham and 15 miles from the airport. Popular routes include commuter runs north to Birmingham via US 31 and longer trips to Montgomery on I-65. The historic Vulcan Trail follows an old railroad bed right through downtown.
