Homer is a small farming town in east-central Illinois, about 15 miles southeast of Champaign-Urbana. Most people reach it via I-74 to the St. Joseph exit, then head south on local roads through corn and soybean country. The historic grain elevator towers over everything else and can be spotted from miles away across the flat prairie.
