Homeland is a small Georgia town of 755 people in Charlton County, about 30 miles northwest of Folkston near the Okefenokee Swamp. US Highway 1 runs north-south through town, connecting to Waycross and the Florida border, while State Route 94 provides the east-west link. The community got its name from a 1908 land company that marketed lots to homesteaders seeking their own "homeland."
