Holy Cross is a tiny farming town in eastern Iowa's Dubuque County, reached via County Road X31 off US Highway 52. Most visitors are making the 15-mile trip from Dubuque or connecting to Highway 20 for longer journeys across Iowa. The town's Catholic church, built in 1858, still serves as the community centerpiece on Main Street.
