The 144 residents live among corn and soybean fields in Monroe County's rolling countryside. Most trips are local farm routes, though visitors from Columbia or Mexico use Highway 15 to reach this quiet agricultural area. The town's 1898 one-room schoolhouse still stands with its original bell tower.
