Hohenwald is a small Tennessee town about 75 miles southwest of Nashville, reached via US Highway 412 from Interstate 40. The Lewis County seat sits in rolling farmland with a humid subtropical climate. Highway 412 provides the main east-west route, while State Route 20 connects north to Columbia and the Natchez Trace Parkway. The town is home to the Elephant Sanctuary, a 2,700-acre refuge for retired circus elephants.
