Hobart sits along US Highway 183 in southwestern Oklahoma, about 90 miles from Oklahoma City. Most visitors arrive via Interstate 40, exiting at Elk City and heading south. The town serves as a regional hub where Highway 183 meets State Highway 9, connecting rural communities across Kiowa County. Hobart is famously the birthplace of the shopping cart, invented here in 1937.
