Hinton sits along Highway 281 in west-central Oklahoma, about an hour west of Oklahoma City via I-40 and Highway 8. This prairie town of 5,000 connects north-south traffic between the Wichita Mountains and northern wheat country, while locals make quick trips to nearby Weatherford for shopping. The restored 1902 Rock Island Railroad depot downtown still has its original ticket windows intact.
