Hilmar-Irwin is a small Central Valley farming town about 15 miles southeast of Turlock, known for dairy operations and almond orchards. Take Highway 165 east from Highway 99 through Turlock, or access via Highway 140 from Merced. The Hilmar Cheese Company operates one of the world's largest cheese processing facilities here, producing over a billion pounds annually.
