Hillsboro is a small city of about 1,350 people in southwestern Wisconsin's Vernon County, situated along Highway 33 between Reedsburg and La Crosse. The community sits in the scenic Driftless Area, surrounded by rolling hills and farmland. Highway 80 provides north-south access through town, connecting to Richland Center and communities toward Illinois. The downtown retains its original 1870s street grid with many historic buildings from the railroad era.
