Highland is a small Arkansas Ozark Mountain town of about 1,350 people in Sharp County. US Highway 412 runs right through town, connecting west to Mountain Home (15 miles) and east toward Ash Flat, while Highway 289 provides north-south access. Most visitors arrive via US 62 or US 167, then connect to Highway 412. The town sits near Sharp County Regional Airport, one of the few municipal airports in this rural part of the Arkansas Ozarks.
