Hickory Flat is a small Mississippi town of 544 people, about 45 minutes southeast of Memphis via I-55 and Highway 4. The area features rolling hills, pine forests, and agricultural land typical of north-central Mississippi. Highway 7 connects it north-south to Oxford and Ole Miss. The town gets its name from a flat area once covered in hickory trees.
