Hermosa is a small Black Hills community of 353 people in western South Dakota, about 25 miles southwest of Rapid City via US 16 and US 385. The town sits along the foothills where prairie meets pine forest, serving as a gateway to Custer State Park and Wind Cave National Park. Its 1890 railroad depot, now a museum, showcases the town's historic connection to the Burlington Northern line.
