Hermitage is a lakeside town of 730 people in Missouri's Ozark hills, about 45 miles southeast of Springfield via Highway 13 south to Highway 254 east. The main routes include Highway 254 connecting to Bolivar and Highway 83 linking north to the Lake of the Ozarks region. It's the gateway to Pomme de Terre State Park, where the crystal-clear lake earned the name "Apple of the Earth" from French explorers.
