Hendley is a tiny farming community of 21 people in south-central Nebraska's Furnas County. US Highway 136 runs right through town, connecting east to Red Cloud and west toward Colorado, while Highway 89 heads north to Holdrege. Most visitors come via Highway 136 from either I-80 (60 miles north) or the Kansas border. The vintage grain elevator still operates and dominates the skyline for miles around.
