Henagar is a small city of 2,500 people in northeastern Alabama's DeKalb County, sitting on the Cumberland Plateau where the Appalachians meet the Tennessee Valley. The main route is US Highway 117, which connects to Interstate 59 near Fort Payne about 15 miles southwest. Most visitors arrive from I-59 via US 117 north, while State Route 75 runs east-west through town. The city is home to the DeKalb County Coliseum, a 5,000-seat arena hosting everything from high school basketball to rodeos.
