Hemingway is a small town of 660 people in rural South Carolina, about 35 miles from Myrtle Beach via US Highway 521. The main routes are US 521 running north-south and State Route 41 going east-west toward Lake City. Most visitors are locals heading to Florence for services or tourists driving to the coast. The town is named after author Ernest Hemingway.
