Helper, a former coal town in Carbon County, sits along US Highway 6 about seven miles from Price in Utah's high desert. The city connects to Salt Lake Valley via scenic Spanish Fork Canyon, roughly 120 miles northwest, while State Route 191 through Price links to Moab and southern Utah. Carbon County Regional Airport is 15 miles southeast. The Western Mining and Railroad Museum in the restored 1914 depot displays vintage locomotives, and Main Street preserves early 1900s architecture from the coal boom era.
