Helix is a small farming town in northeastern Oregon's wheat country, home to 471 people in the rolling Palouse hills. Take I-84 to Exit 216 near Echo, then Highway 207 north for 15 miles through golden grain fields. The 1922 grain elevator still operates and can be seen for miles across the surrounding farmland.
