Helen is a Bavarian-themed mountain town 90 miles northeast of Atlanta via I-85 and GA-365. The scenic two-hour drive leads to an Alpine village complete with German architecture and Oktoberfest celebrations. Located along the Chattahoochee River in the Blue Ridge foothills, Helen connects to regional destinations via US-129 and GA-75. The entire 1960s downtown reconstruction created an authentic German village that hosts over a million visitors yearly in a town of just 415 residents.
