Hector is a farming town of 1,130 people in south-central Minnesota, about 100 miles southwest of Minneapolis. Take US 212 west to Highway 4 south, or drive straight down Highway 4 from Willmar. The town sits where Highway 4 meets County Road 2, surrounded by corn and soybean fields. Its towering grain elevator serves as a landmark visible for miles across the flat prairie.
