Hearne is a small Texas city about 90 miles from both Houston and Dallas, connected by US Highway 79 and State Highway 6. It's 25 miles from Bryan-College Station and serves as a gateway between the Brazos Valley and Austin areas. The town grew around railroad crossings in the 1890s, and its restored 1899 train depot now houses a visitor center with original railway artifacts.
