Healdton is a small Carter County town of about 2,500 people, located 15 miles southwest of Ardmore via Highway 76. Most visitors take I-35 to Exit 24 at Ardmore, then follow US-199 west to Highway 76 south. The town sits in rolling prairie where the Arbuckle Mountains begin rising to the east. Downtown still features the original 1918 Carter County Bank building from Healdton's brief reign as Oklahoma's oil capital.
