Hazel is a farming town of 199 people in eastern South Dakota's Hamlin County. Highway 212 runs right through town, connecting to Watertown 15 miles east and Interstate 29. State Highway 25 provides north-south access through the agricultural area. The vintage grain elevator with faded company lettering serves as a landmark visible across the prairie for miles.
