Hazel Green is a small Wisconsin town of about 1,200 people in Grant County's rolling hills, 15 miles northeast of Dubuque, Iowa. Reach it via US 151 north from Dubuque to Highway 11 west, or from Madison take US 18 west to Dodgeville, then Highway 151 south to Highway 11. The town got its name from the hazel bushes and green galena ore that attracted the area's first lead miners in the 1820s.
