Hayesville is a tiny farming community of 52 people in southeastern Iowa's Keokuk County. Reach it via Highway 23 or 92, then county roads through corn and soybean fields. Oskaloosa Municipal Airport sits about 20 miles northwest. The town preserves a one-room schoolhouse that served local children from 1874 to 1959.
