Hayden is a small ranching town in Colorado's Yampa Valley, positioned on US Highway 40 between Steamboat Springs (22 miles east) and Craig (18 miles west). From Denver, it's a scenic 150-mile drive via I-70 and US 40 through Winter Park. Yampa Valley Airport sits 3 miles west of town. The area experiences typical high-country weather with snowy winters and mild summers. Hayden Heritage Days celebrates the town's cowboy culture each summer.
