Haviland is a farming town of 600 people in southwestern Kansas, sitting right on US Highway 54 between Pratt and Dodge City. The route connects Wichita to Colorado and serves as the town's main street. It's a straight shot west from Wichita through wheat country, with the massive grain elevator visible from miles away across the prairie.
