Havelock is a tiny farming town of 162 people in north-central Iowa's Pocahontas County. Most visitors arrive via US Highway 3, which runs five miles south and connects to Pocahontas (15 minutes southeast) and Emmetsburg to the west. The town sits amid corn and soybean fields with rural roads connecting to the broader highway network. Its original 1899 grain elevator still stands from the railroad era.
