Haughton is a small city in northwestern Louisiana, about 15 miles east of Shreveport on Interstate 20. With around 4,500 residents, it sits in rolling hill country where Louisiana's coastal plains meet Texas. The town serves as a bedroom community for nearby Barksdale Air Force Base and Shreveport, connected by I-20 and Highway 80. Haughton hosts one of Louisiana's largest Native American Pow Wow festivals each October.
