Hatfield is a small mountain town of 540 people in western Arkansas, about 20 miles southwest of Mena via Highway 8. Most visitors arrive from Little Rock using I-40 west to Highway 71 south, then Highway 8 west. The town sits in timber country among the Ouachita Mountains, where logging and agriculture remain the primary industries. Its historic one-room schoolhouse from 1925 still stands on Main Street.
