Hastings sits where US-6 and US-281 cross in south-central Nebraska, about 20 miles southwest of Grand Island via US-34. The agricultural hub connects Lincoln (100 miles east) with Colorado-bound traffic on US-6, while US-281 provides the main north-south route through the region. The city anchors Adams County with a traditional courthouse square downtown and serves the surrounding farming communities. The Hastings Museum houses the largest IMAX dome theater between Chicago and Denver.
