Hastings sits 30 miles southeast of Minneapolis-St. Paul along the Mississippi River where it meets the Vermillion River. Most visitors drive Highway 61 south from St. Paul, a scenic 45-minute route with river views, or take Highway 52 north from Rochester. The town features the historic Spiral Bridge from 1895, the only spiral bridge remaining in Minnesota.
