Haskell is a small county seat in north-central Texas, about 60 miles north of Abilene on US 277. The town of 2,817 sits in rolling plains dotted with cotton fields and cattle ranches. Most visitors arrive via US 277 from Abilene or take Highway 380 east-west through town. The historic courthouse anchors downtown, and the town shares its name with the famous border-straddling library in Vermont.
