Hartwick is a tiny farming town in central Iowa with about 100 residents, reached via Highway 6 from Iowa City (45 miles west) or from Des Moines via I-80 to Highway 21 north. The area offers classic Midwest prairie scenery with corn and soybean fields. The local post office has operated continuously since 1881.
