Hartshorne is a small city in southeastern Oklahoma, about 15 miles from McAlester via US Highway 270. The town of 1,600 sits in rolling Ouachita foothills with a historic downtown featuring early 1900s brick buildings from the coal mining era. McAlester Regional Airport is 20 miles northwest, and State Highway 1 provides north-south connections to I-40.
