Hartley is a small farming town in northwest Iowa, accessible via Highway 18 east-west and Highway 60 north-south. The area experiences typical Midwest weather with hot summers and snowy winters. Most visitors come through Spencer (15 miles east) or connect from I-35 near Estherville. The historic 1920s gymnasium at the Community Center still has its original hardwood floors.
