Harrison is a tiny county seat in Nebraska's remote northwest corner, reachable via US Highway 20 from Chadron or through the Sandhills from Interstate 80. At nearly 5,000 feet elevation, it's one of the state's highest towns, surrounded by rolling prairie and wind-carved badlands. The 1887 courthouse on the town square predates Nebraska's statehood.
