Hanahan is a suburban city in Berkeley County, about 15 miles north of Charleston via Interstate 26. The main routes are I-26 for regional travel and US Highway 52 for local connections to other Berkeley County communities. Charleston International Airport is 12 miles away, and the commute to downtown Charleston takes about 20 minutes. The city operates its own small municipal airport for general aviation and flight training.
