Hammond sits in southeastern Louisiana, about 45 miles northwest of New Orleans along the I-55 corridor. The city connects easily to major destinations via Interstate 55 north to Mississippi and south to New Orleans, with US-190 providing the main east-west link to Baton Rouge.
