Hamlin is a tiny agricultural community of 14 people in northeastern Kansas's Brown County. Reach it via US Highway 36 from St. Joseph, Missouri (45 miles) or through Sabetha from larger Kansas cities. The area features rolling farmland typical of the Great Plains. The historic one-room schoolhouse from 1902 still stands in town.
