Hamlet is a tiny farming community in southwestern Nebraska with just 16 residents, located along Highway 6 about 25 miles east of McCook. Most traffic passes through on the east-west route connecting small agricultural towns across Hayes County. The settlement maintains its historic post office, one of the few remaining public buildings serving local farmers and ranchers in this remote corner of the Great Plains.
