Hamilton is a tiny farming community in Washington's Skagit Valley, reached via State Route 20 from Mount Vernon about 15 miles west. The town sits beneath the Cascade foothills, serving as a gateway to North Cascades National Park. Most visitors arrive on SR-20 from I-5, following the scenic route through valley farmland. Hamilton's volunteer fire department still operates from a converted 1920s schoolhouse.
