Hamilton is a small farming town in northwest Missouri, about an hour northeast of Kansas City via I-35 and Highway 36. The 1,755-person county seat sits along Highway 36, the main east-west route through north-central Missouri. Most visitors arrive from Kansas City or St. Joseph on regional trips. The town centers on a traditional courthouse square dominated by an 1896 Victorian courthouse with a working clock tower.
