Halsey is a small Willamette Valley town of 1,500 people along Highway 99E, about an hour south of Portland via I-5 (Exit 216). Most visitors come from Eugene (30 miles) or Salem (45 miles), while locals use 99E for valley trips between Harrisburg and Junction City. The 1918 railroad depot, now a community center, recalls the town's railroad heritage.
