Hallwood is a tiny Eastern Shore community of 160 people along US Route 13 in Accomack County. The main route is US 13 north-south, with State Route 175 heading east to the coast. Most visitors come from Norfolk (85 miles south via the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel) or from Maryland and Delaware to the north. It's just 8 miles from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility, where rocket launches to the International Space Station regularly illuminate the night sky.
