Hallock is a farming town of 830 people in Minnesota's northwest corner, three miles from Canada. US Highway 75 runs north from Grand Forks (45 miles) to the border crossing, while Highway 11 connects east-west border communities. The massive grain elevator towers over the prairie, visible for miles across the flat Red River Valley farmland.
