Hallam is a farming community of 346 people located 25 miles southwest of Lincoln via Highway 33. The town sits in Lancaster County's agricultural heartland, surrounded by corn and soybean fields. Most visitors arrive from Lincoln or take Interstate 80 to the Highway 33 exit near Greenwood. Hallam was struck by one of the widest tornadoes on record in 2004, with a 2.5-mile-wide funnel.
