Halfway is a tiny Missouri community along Highway 13, about 25 miles north of Springfield in Polk County's rolling Ozark foothills. The main route runs north-south through farmland toward Bolivar and the Lake of the Ozarks region. With just 137 residents, it's essentially a rural crossroads surrounded by mixed forests and pastures. The town got its name from being halfway between two larger settlements on an old stagecoach route.
