Haleyville sits in northwest Alabama's Winston County, about 60 miles from Birmingham in the scenic Appalachian foothills. US Highway 278 runs right through town, connecting to Interstate 22 near Jasper for easy access from Birmingham or Tupelo. State Route 13 provides the north-south connection. The city of 4,300 made history as the birthplace of America's 911 emergency system in 1968.
